I suffer with gout and it is very, very, painful. Although I take tablets to rid my body of the uric acid I have found by rubbing Dog Oil in the joint which is affected the relief is almost instantaneous. I still have to take the tablets which my GP prescribes.

Thank you for the Dog Oil which I received the other day. I bought some previously on the recommendation of a friend, and I have been using it on my horse, Penny, who had developed a cracked heel. Elwyn Hartley Edwards, in his book The Horseman's Manual, recommends goose fat for curing cracked heels, and Dog Oil seems to be the vegetarian equivalent for external application. I'm continuing the application to prevent recurrence.

I also find Dog Oil excellent for preventing cracking of cold sores (herpes simplex). As a flute/piccolo player I really appreciate this."
